I have a 87' Mariner 60hp and I just replaced all gaskets and did a thorough cleaning of carbs and now when idling fuel sprays out of the jet on the air box side of the both carbs,I thought it was the lever that keeps the float up but I got that bent right and it improved the idle but it is still spraying out, I was just wondering where to begin to diagnose this problem I do have a manual so any help would be great.

Can you be a little more clear about what you call spraying. If it's just spitting a little fuel at idle that can be normal. A steady spray would not be normal and could indicate that the float levels are still not correct. The carbs are pretty simple but you can get things goofed up. I'd tear one down and go back through it using a Merc Service Manual and not a Seloc or Clymer. You can usually find them on eBay cheap or you can spend 100.00 and get one straight from Merc.
