I just bought this boat, tried to start it up today. When I was priming the bulb fuel was coming out of the male/female connector barb, without the ball really getting hard. I haven't had a boat for awaile, but I don't remember this ever happening. This should be a easy question. Befor I went out and bought a new one, I thought id get some of your thoughts on this. Do these things go bad, It could be missing a seal O-ring or something. Ive never used this type of connector. Appreciate any thoughts. thx

Re: fuel leaking out of connector barb?

You talking about old-fashioned Mercury "bayonet" barbs?

Yes, they have o-rings inside, and yes those will shrink and stop sealing eventually...happens even faster with today's ethanol-based fuels.
