fuel leaks by the throttle shaft

Hello everybody ,
I change the control cables on my boat and while checking the lever movements i notice a small puddle of gasoline next to the carburetor throttle shaft . i probable did 15-20 acceleration moves to check the control cables moves .The engine was not running in this time .
My question is when the engine is running is this going to happen or the vacuum will keep the gasoline from dripping outside ?
if I put the marine kit on the carburetor is there any o rings or any seal that might come with it to fix this ?
The carburetor is Holley quadrajet 4175 , the marine kit is 703-34.

Any other ideas about this ?

The carb has to be disassembled all the way, throttle plate removed, butterfly plates removed, and rod removed, and the holes rebushed. While running the vacuum may slow it down some, but the amount you mention indicates the carb is most likely in the twilight of its' career.

Exactly. When there is so much throttle shaft wear that fuel can get out, that means air can get in. So when the engine runs it will be constantly dealing with a vacuum leak. I'd recommend the rebushing of the shaft entry too. It takes effort, but that carburetor was designed and set up for the engine it is on.
Quadrajets are so changeable that you really should get the original one repaired if possible because any replacement is not likely to match as well.

OK. Thank you .
I am looking already on ebay for rebushing kit .
well better to see it now rather than wonder about other things.
