Have any of you found a good way to keep the twist lock connector on the end of the fuel line clean and dry while trailering the boat home from the lake. For some reason the connector gets milky looking and slick to handle before it is time to connect it again. Then it picks up whatever dirt is in the area where it is laying at the back of the motor well. I'm thinking about taking some carb. cleaner spray along to clean the end before connecting it to the motor. But just wondered if anybody has found a neat solution for this problem.

Yeah some gas was dripping, behind the connector, when we had it on the lake today. I wasn't sure if it was the hose end or the motor fitting. I changed the hose last year. Now that I have it home I will pump up the hose and prop the hose up so I can see if it drips without being connected to the motor. I know that the hose is hard to connect to the motor so I wonder if the fitting on the motor is bad too. I adjusted the idle down too far the other day and now it idles for a while and dies. At least I know how to adjust the idle now so it will be a lot quicker adjusting it up a bit. Believe it or not I'm gaining on the problems here and hope to be trouble free soon.
