Fuel Line diameter

My 35 HP has a smaller diameter fuel line that runs about one foot from the fuel pump to another fuel line that is 3/8" diameter. The smaller line fits right into the 3/8 line and both are clamped. Does this sound like the correct set up for this motor?

Perhaps this might not be such a big deal, but if it is, what is the correct diameter to use? I'm thinking of taking out the smaller hose and just using the 3/8 all the way from the motor to the tank.

Re: Fuel Line diameter

A motor that small doesn't need a large dia. hose.A 1/4" hose is all that is needed.J

Re: Fuel Line diameter

I had a pair of 88/85hp motors and they came on a 21 Bayliner and they were stock with 1/4" hoses.Any size 1/4" or bigger will work.J
