I got this Clinton last week, and going through it was easy enough. BUT.. when I inspected the fuel line that came with the motor, I found that the primer (an 8 inch long 1 inch diameter squeeze pump) is blowing on BOTH ends.

Shouldn't it suck fuel on one side and blow out the other ?? It's almost like the primer is trying to pressurize the tank like the old OMC guys, but the tank is a cheezy little 3 gallon plastic thing that was not meant to be pressurized by the looks of it. There is also a vent screw on the cap on the tank which tells me it is not a pressure tank.

The motor is operational because I connected a 10 inch piece of line to the carb bib, filled it with 24 to 1 and she started on the first pull and ran fine till the gas was gone. I just have to figure out the fuel delivery thinking here.

AS always thanks in advance, and happy new year to you all.

its not supposed to have a pressurized tank just a regular vented tank like you have. Id replace the primer bulb and give it a whirl.

just guessing but I think there should be a little ball that lets gas into the primer and blocks the intake when you squeeze forcing fuel toward the motor.

Problem solved !!!! I thought if there is a ball-valve in the thing, it must be stuck. So with nothing to loose, I poured SeaFoam in the primer, and then put it on the floor and went to town on it with a rubber mallet. It works like a charm now !!! who knew?

disclaimer: I am NOT in any way recommending this fix on any part of anything... remember, I had nothing to loose. (but it was fun)
