Fuel Line Replacement

I swapped a motorcycle for a 1988 Century Bronco. This boat has some cosmetic issues but nothing serious. I'm trying to correct a problem that may require that I replace the fuel line from the tank to the pump. I have two questions.
1. Where does the fuel line run, and will I need to pull the floor to get at the line?
2. If what I think has happened, fuel line swelled shut due to new gas, what material should I replace it with?
Thanks

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... It runs from the tank to the motor,...
Usually along a stringer, but not always,..

You'll have to Look,....

Use Coast Guard approve marine fuel line,...

Re: Fuel Line Replacement

My '86 Century Bronco 3.0L has a removable floor panel between the doghouse and the ski locker. It at least appears to be original. It is held down by eight, I believe exposed stainless screws. Pop those out and the hose is slipped on a barb on the tank and held by a worm gear clamp in my case. The hose just lays on top of the tank and goes straight to the fuel pump on the starboard bottom side of the motor near the front. I replaced mine with USCG approved fuel line (3/8" if memory serves) bought at the local marine supplier. Couldn't hardly be any easier in my case anyways.

Jonnyb,
Thanks, I guess it's time to pull the carpet and seats. This weekend I'll do some more testing to be sure before I lift the carpet.

Here is a quick so-so pic I took for you. The panel goes all the way back to the bilge. It rests on two cleats that are screwed into the inside edge of each stringer. If you haven't gotten into it yet I could open it up and get you some measurements or pics/video of it.

Re: Fuel Line Replacement

Thanks, the PO carpetted over the access panel. Anyhow the probem I was chasing was no power at WOT. Mutliple searches here and other places on the net, and my own logic kept pointing to a fuel issue. I rebuilt the card 2 times, tested with an auxilary fuel tank with new gas, clogged filter, clogged fuel line, new points, wires, coil and so on. The fix, about a quarter inch turn of the distributor. Boat runs great. But I want to thank all here for there help and advice.
Now some new back to back seats and I'm a happy boater. Took her out last Saturday had a great time.

Re: Fuel Line Replacement

Glad to hear ya got it sorted out. All it takes is a little less then a seasons worth of wear on a set of points for me to need a timing adjustment. Just in case you're not aware, I'll tell you that as the points wear the timing retards and therefor needs adjustment as this wear occurs. A timing adjustment would have been mandatory with replacement of the ignition points. Cheers my good sir.
