you should have 3/8" metal lines from the water separating filter to the fuel pump. and the same 3/8" metal fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb

the filter in the carb will depend on which carb you have, holley or quadrajet. available at any automotive store, however your primary fuel filter should be the fuel/water separator filter between your fuel tank and the fuel pump.

between the fuel tank and the fuel filter should be USCG A2 hose

NO, bad bad advice

no plastic filters allowed in an I/O fuel system period - outboards yes, I/O's no. if an outboard leaks fuel and blows up, the boat survives. if an I/O leaks fuel into the bilge and blows up, it takes divers weeks with small nets to find all the bits.

sounds good is there any general filters for a holley. the inlet to carb is custom from the previous owner and i dont even think the regular filter would fit. also there are all rubber lines now no metal. is that alright? fuel pump and filter have barbs and rubber lines. all metal was removed

the ONLY way that rubber lines are alright is if they are USCG A2 lines. they will be stamped USCG A2 every 3-4 inches.

if you have regular automotive fuel hoses, that is not compliant.

I apologize, I typed A2 (Hard hose for fuel fill) vs A1 hose (vent and supply).

the A1-15 is formulated for 15 grams of permeation over a 24 hour period. that hose would be fine.

if the prior owner removed the fuel/water filter, then I suggest spending $25 and getting a new fuel/water filter as well

not needed if you have the 12 micron fuel/water filter which filters better than any of those add-on filters

unless you like wasting money.
