Anyone know what size carburetor fuel line hose my 1985 Bayliner Capri 85hp Force Motor takes?

3/8's, 5/8's? It's pretty old, so no markings on it. Also any local stores to get marine grade fuel line hose instead of ordering off line?

Thanks

Profile? Could be 1/4In or5/16.I've seen them with both.Any auto store should have both.Auto Zone and Advance in my area carry both.Napa etc.
If U are gonna change, change ALL the hoses.Squeezie too. Then install a water seperating filter in the line.J

Carb nipples take a 5/16 hose. You can force on a 1/4 hose and 3/8 will need to be clamped tightly. Personally, I use 3/8 from tank to carbs.

Re: Fuel Line Size

I just replaced 7? of 1970s-fuel line and 1985?s in-line filter on a 35 HP Chrysler on a 15? Raycraft and it was not fun or my preference. You have to be creative but Safe!!

1. I could only find a marine grade in Napa?s catalog as a 3/8?, 7' kit vs 5/16?/ 3/8? hose needed due to in-line filter/fitting/applications in a non kit form.

2. I had to adapt/modify/with the ?gray marine grade hose kit? vs the 10? of 5 /16? or 3/8? plastic hose. Orig line looked like plastic vs new gray reinforced line.

Good Lick!

Gas pumps don't know if the gas is going into a boat or a car. Any fuel line is fine.
Not if you wish to remain compliant with Coast Guard regs it isn't. You have to use USCG-approved fuel line. Good luck collecting on your insurance if you have a fuel fire and the fuel line isn't approved, even if the line wasn't directly responsible for the fire.
