I am curious about something. I installed a 1984 evinrude 115 and when I attached the fuelline there were actually two choices of what to do...one side had a part where it appears sometype of fitting (female)would be at the end of the fuel line and attach to the motor at a corresponding male fitting. Next to that was an old fashioned barb type fitting. I didnt have the fitting so I just used the barb...is it safe to assume that all will be ok? Runs great in the driveway...testing it out Friday morning in the river...hate to get stuck out there...thanks guys.

Re: fuel line

You connected the gas line to the VRO oil line?

Re: fuel line

VRO is removed.....connected to barb connection rather than clip on......connected fuel line inside to other end of barb...just bypassed the traditional connection...that barb im referring to may be what used to be for the VRO...I dont know....but the inside of the barb wasnt connected to anything so I put the fuel line there...running fine in the driveway just not sure what will happen in the river.

Re: fuel line

if your question is whether it is OK to connect the fuel line to the motor without a clip, yes, in fact, probably better b/c the clips are a potential air leak or other failure point. My 150 Yam is plumbed in without clips anywhere along the line.

The clips are for convenience, including switching tanks or using a portable tank.
