I have a 1974 Aristocraft with a Mercruiser 165hp inline 6. I want to change to a dual diaphragm fuel pump for safety sake. What kind on line do I need for this and where does it go-I know to the carburetor but there is not anyplace on the carburetor at this point to hook it to. I have a just rebuilt Rochester 2gc. My current fuel pump is not set like this-I think it's a automotive type.

on the starboard side of the carb. you'll find a plug just below the the top of the venturi.

replace the plug with a fitting from the hardware store with a nipple to accept the new hose.

as for the type of hose. i think you use clear fuel line. no idea what it's called but understand from previous threads that perhaps it can be obtained from a lawnmower repair type store.

depending on the version of valve cover and crankcase ventilation your engine has. the crankcase ventilation may need to be rerouted too.
to something like this.
