Fuel mix in Johnson JH 19A? 1:50 or 1:24

I hadn’t noticed the sticker on the top of the motor and I was planning on the 1:24 ratio which is 1/3 pint per gallon and accords with one of the stickers. This is 5.3 oz of oil per gallon. But is it possible that this sticker says 2/3?

Then I took note of the other sticker which says 1 pint per 6 gallons (I think... this one is sort of beat up). That’s 2.6 oz per gallon which is reflective of a 1:50 mix.

Whcih should I use? I bought the motor with fuel in it, and it is running fine, but I understand that, though it’s rare, we do need to add gas every once in a while. I’m at the lake right now about to go out on our maiden voyage and I have two gallons of gas, a quart of motor oil, and a measuring device. I just need to know what to do? And if I get it wrong, which direction better to go wrong - too much oil or not enough.

That is a 1964 model, the year that they went from 24:1 to 50:1. But 50:1 was only approved if Johnson Oil was used. The original Johnson oil was different than today's Johnson oil. Whatever, you will find lots of people saying use 24:1. It won't hurt it and may prolong it's life a bit.

The label says 1/3 pint which is 24:1
Model # says 1964
In 1964 Johnson saya all engines use 50:1, no mention of Johnson oil(didn't exist yet), just "a reputable outboard motor oil or a regular SAE 30 grade automotive engine oil"
Maybe this is a pre 1964 motor, or cowl, sitting on a 1964 stern clamp

Until year of powerhead is verified, I would run 24:1 TCW-3

Hey jimmbo, thanks for that scan. Based on reading it, I’d guess the parenthesis on my first sticker says (after break-in).

What is the clue that this is a 1964?
