fuel not flowing

i have an 85hp force and have been having fuel probs(wont throttle up post), i took the carbs apart and checked them for the third time, i replaced the inline fuel filter and the fuel pump diaphragm. the new inline filter is a clear glass one and its fine at idle and even a bit of throttle however it empties out when i give it to much throttle so, the question is:is there something in the fuel pump besides the diaphragm that i should check? i also took the cap off the gas tank to make sure wasnt a vapor lock thing in the tank and made no diff. i have a motorcycle that had a prob with the glass in line filters getting vapor locked in it could that be an issue here? also could the primer bulb have a check valve prob?

The button valves in the pump can go bad but that is rare. They would be the last thing I would check.
First, check to see if there is a strainer inside the tank--it may be partially clogged. Did you check and clean the strainer inside the black plastic inlet fitting?
Second: My pet. If you have a quick-connect fitting at the tank or in the line, unscrew the male fitting and check inside it. Crap can collect behind the ball and inside the spring, severely restricting fuel flow.
Third: inspect the check valves in the primer bulb. They do get old and stick.
Fourth: Check for kinks or restrictions in the line itself. Your tank is not sitting on the line, is it?
Fifth: Is the fuel pick up sitting in such a manner that when you accelerate, the fuel runs away from it? This can also happen with a broken fuel line inside the tank, or one with a pinhole up high. Sitting at idle, the hole is covered. Give it the gas and the hole sucks air.

What about the short black pressure/vacuum hose to the pump? Is it loose on the fitting or does it have a hole or crack?

what short black vac/press hose are you talking about?

i have to check the tank hose, qd connection, and primer bulb valves everything else is good. the black fuel filter did have a yellowish clear almost dried glue looking substance in it, what is that? some sort of hose sealant/coating?

You did not say what year Force you have and I made the mistake of thinkling you have an earlier Force. If you have the square black mercury pump, there is no short hose. If you have the earlier Chrysler/Force dual stage pump shaped something like a figure 8, then there is a short hose about 4 inches long running from a fitting near the bottom of the block to a fitting on the pump base.
