Just aquired and old Glastron with a 1980 150 hp Johnson. Cant find any model or seriel # and a search did not turn up any info for a oil/gas mix ratio. All my other motors were 50/1 but some one said this motor may be 100/1. With the info that I have would anyone know what the proper mix would be. Thank you.

Re: fuel/oil mix ratio

really need your model no so to know how old she is but up to 64 i think was 24:1 then after 50:1 but that 100:1 was revised to 24:1 or 32:1

Re: fuel/oil mix ratio

Radar, <br />I see you have a 1980 motor. You will just fine staying at a 50:1 fuel/oil ratio. Pre-1963 motors often required 24:1 32:1 mixes due to bearing designs. For a short time, OMC suggested a 100:1 mix , but later rolled it back to 50:1. Some use the 100:1 mix for trolling to minimize plug fouling, but can be risky at higher RPM's, there's simply not enough lubrication at that ratio to insure adequate cooling and lubrication .
