Re: fuel oil mix

Howdy, b hunter.

Welcome to iboats. :)

All OMC outboards from 1964 up use a 50:1 mix. Yours is a 1977, so it will use the 50:1.

Good luck. :)

Re: fuel oil mix

If you find that the motor is too smoky, you can also use the Synthetic Amsoil Saber at 100:1 in any 50: motor. One half-pint bottle per 6-gal tank, instead of a 1-pint bottle of "regular" oil per 6 gallons. Less oil means less smoke. I have done that for years in my 1974 Evinrude 15. Since it's half the oil, running the Amsoil was actually cheaper in the long run.

Back in the seventies McCullough also had a 100:1 mix oil (red oil) and they were shortly out of business ... LOL

Many say they have been using this Amsoil Saber for some time ... I only used it for a tankfull (maybe less) and I hated the stinking smell (tiller)
