I don't know either, my suggestion is to take that motor completely apart, and reassemble it all nice and polished up with no fluids and put it on display somewhere, unless the boat your'e operating is as vintage as that motor and your lookin to display it as a working model at an antique show.

Say, Jerry.

I don't see why. What is it about your posts that seems to draw smart-alecs out to waste time and space with useless replies??

Jerry,
I didn't mean any disrespect to you or your motor. I am just amazed that a motor that old is still in comission. Hope it works out for you.

JB,
I'm sorry that you feel that my post was not appropriate. I only replied with a little light-hearted humor only after you had supplied Jerry with the information he was looking for. I have nothing but respect for the people in this forum. It shows that they are willing to learn AND help from what they've learned. It has proven, to me, to be an invaluable tool with a great bunch of guys (and gals) that have much in common....the love of boating.

Saltymut

Re: fuel/oil mixture

Hi Salty.

I review about 200 posts a day as well as answering any that I can. That usually takes about 4 hours on a good day.

I get a little grumpy after I have moved 5 or 6 that were in the wrong forum, deleted six or eight that were double or triple posted and edited a few to try to help them make sense.

Don't get me wrong. If I didn't love doing it I wouldn't, but extra posts that don't help the topic poster just make it longer without contributing.

Sorry if I got a bit short fused.

To JB, Saltymut, Trippin & Steelspike. Got motor installed on boat(16'x50" aluminum) last weekend and tried it out at the lake. Ran three tanks gas through it and it ran great. Starts on first pull, trolls great and has enough power to pull my kids on a tube (Aged 10-13) Thanks for all your help, Jerry Ney
