i'm having a high rpm bogging problem in my 210 crownline 5.7 volvo tbi, i'm checking my fuel pressure i get 30 psi on the high side,on the low side the only other place i can find a schrader valve is on top of the fuel cell on back of the engine, it get 0 pressure there, i'm not sure that's even the right place to check, i want to make sure before i spend big buck's to replace it, thank's for your help!

Re: fuel pressure?

the high side is the place you check it... the 0 side is more than likely the return line...

on a TBI there is the pressure side...(to the TBI) and the return line...right after the regulator...(the small line)

check you fuel pressure and idle and WOT...and notice if it drops any...

do it on the lake/river/ocean whatever so you can see what teh pressure is when you have the issue...

make sure you have changed all the filters....

Re: fuel pressure?

i did hook the fuel pressure gauge directly to the top of the low pressure pump, you can here it activate for a couple of second's but still 0 psi on the gauge!

Re: fuel pressure?

You could have an air leak in the fuel system up to the fuel pump and no fuel in the filter. Did you check to see if there is fuel in the filter under the pump?

PS, while it's identical to a Volvo, you have an OMC issue engine and drive. You can tell by the SN ,T1310020 is OMC.
Volvo would be no letters and 10 numbers long

the high side is the place you check it... the 0 side is more than likely the return line...

On cars maybe, but not on Volvo marine engines.
There are 2 pumps, a high and a low.

210, here is a link to some manuals that will help in the process. If you have no pressure from the LP pump, start by hooking up an outboard tank to the engine filter and pump the system full of fuel. Then start the engine on muffs (if it will start) and see if the pressure comes up on the pump.
