fuel pressure ??

my fuel pressure will read 30 psi at a idle when i try to give it more than half throtle the fuel pressure will go to zero and the boat boags down i am told that it might be a fuel pump but i see that there is 2 pumps the one on that feeds the fuel rail is running but so is the other to me it the top pump sound loud. the boat is new to me so dont now if that pump should be that loud which pump ??? 351 king cobra efi omc any answers would help thanks newbe

30 psi is low for an efi system, and a drop in pressure indicates a Low volume condition - not enough fuel being pumped to supply the injectors.<br /><br />the 2 pump question i am not sure about. if this was an aftermarket conversion to efi the inline pump would a boost pump to take the pressure from the "carb" pump from ~8 psi to the 60+ required for efi.<br /><br />Hope this helps<br />Wes

thanks wes my friend tells me there should be 30 psi so i guess he is wrong what is scarry he is a certified a.s.e mechanic. any way the boat is complety stock with the efi the other pump is located in the front of the motor on the bottom right on top of the twist on fuel filter thanks wes by the way the boat is a fourwinns 23 horizon

well found out their is a high pressure and a low pressure now i dont now wich one to replace they both are workink. but if you take the fuel and water seperator of. the filter is only 3/4 of the way full. any replies would help
