I have a 1993 40hp Rude TE40ELETB. What position should the pointer on the red indicator be using hours on the face of a clock as a reference?
Thanks
tabbott

Don't know how to correlate clock position on it but the normal 'run' position is inline with the body of the solenoid until it stops.Manual open is about 90 degree angle to the solenoid body.

Thanks ob. I'll have a look and see if I can correlate your instructions to the pointer position. It appears that the pointer as facing it can point straight up at one limit or about 4 oclock at the other limit. I may be wrong. I appreciate your xpert input.
tabbott

By the way ob, would manual open cause it to run rich?

Re: Fuel Primer Solenoid Position

You can get a feel for the opening and shutting of the manual lever by pumping up the fuel primer bulb until firm and holding a little pressure on it while turning the lever at 90 degrees to the solenoid body.Fuel mix leak thru until you shut it off by turning it back inline with the solenoid body. This is assuming the position of your fuel bulb will allow this test.If not you may need an assistant.Normal 'run' position is closed.
