Hi
I have a 1988 Johnson 40hp, BJ40TLCUD. It's got a problem with fuel in the top cylinder.
It starts ok,goes into gear but the top cylinder isn't firing.
There's good spark,I have swapped coils(top to Bottom),swapped plugs,I even swapped the top carb with the bottom one.I changed the reed vavles but the problem still stays in the top cylinder.
If I run it at full throttle & put my hand over the top carb intake it runs perfectly. As soon as I take my hand away it goes back to running on 1 cyl again.
It seems to be getting to much air(can't be the carb as they both work perfectly in the bottom cylinder)
Any ideas??
