I have a 93 john 225. I have replaced the fuel pump non-vro, carb fuel lines, water seperator filter, primer bulb, and fuel line going to the engine. When i have it hooked up on the muffs the primmer bulb gets soft. I did a search and found that reeves said the primmer bulb should be between the water seperator and the engine. Mines is not it is between the fuel tank and the water seperator, does it matter as far as my primmer bulb getting soft. I am lost. I dont know where to look any more.

Re: fuel problem

Yes, it matters. Put it between the filter and the motor and you should see better results....

Re: fuel problem

Rick, Thank you for the advice you gave me. That was the problem, it had been like that since I bought the boat 4 years ago. I was going crazy tring to find out why the primmer buld would go soft. Again thank you.

Re: fuel problem

i have a 2000 evinrude ficht with a fuel problem.

could this be a solution to why my bulb goes soft and engine cuts off after buring the fuel in the bulb, never getting a fuel feed from the tank?
