Fuel Pump 1978 15hp Johnson

Hi everyone,

Quick question on fuel pump... bought a new one, does it matter if the inlet "large hose" is on the top or bottom??? there is clearance to put it in how I recieved it! "dont wanna take new one apart"
the new one the inlet is on the top and outlet on bottom!.... the original pump had the outlet on top inlet on bottom.
I know I can move the inlet to any position pretty much but just didnt know if the outlet being on top was a nessesaty?????

Hope this fixes my full throttle engine cut out! just dies without sputtering...
but will start right back up and run again till the next cut out?

i just rotated my inlet to the position where hose wasnt going to be kinked and it worked fine ,my replacement pump was a tad bit different from the one that was on the motor
