I have a mercruiser 350 Gm engine. When i bought the boat the dipstick was kinda rigged with some contraption that screwed into drain plug hole. Its not right and its not a very secure. is there a mercruiser kit for that or should the dipstick go into the block like a normal one. My other question is if my mecanical fuel pump decided to crap on me, would it be ok to replace it with an aftermarket electric fuel pump?

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... You need to use a Marine type dipstick,....
Can't see yer's, so I'm guessin' it's probably the Right 1 there now....

If yer mechanical fuel pump dies,... Replace it with Another mechanical 1...
There's NO viable reason to go electric...
