Fuel pump cross reference for Auto

I have a '73 120hp 2.5L 4cyl engine. It takes a OMC 985603 Fuel pump or a Sierra# 18-7278. Does anyone know if there is a cross reference to be able to buy this at Napa or Autozone? Im sure it would be cheaper.

You can probably buy it at Napa - but buy the right marine pump - not an automotive one.

Gotta be a marine pump! And Napa should be able to get you the Sierra one.

You can also go to Autozone and/or Schucks/Kragen/Checker/Oreilly and ask to see their AIRTEX or MASTER catalog.
Airtex is the OEM for Mercruiser and just about ALL the marine fuel pumps and all the above can order them.

The marine pump will have a fitting to prevent fuel from a ruptured pump diaphragm from leaking into the bilge. DO NOT use an automotive pump!

do not use an automotive pump as mentioned ablove or you could go kaboom and be killed or kill your family or boaters beside you and insurance willl NOT pay

Go to Napa. I will no longer shop at Autozone or Schucks after getting the run around all over town when they tell me the other store carries it. Always end up at Napa and they have it or will have in a a day or 2.

Would I just tell Napa the Sierra/OMC part number? Thats what confused me a bit. When I called Autozone they didnt have a clue and I gave them the OMC/Merc/Sierra/Carter number and they still couldnt tell me if they could get it.

Napa part numbers are the same as sierra numbers. They just put the Napa name on it.
