Fuel Pump Diaphragm - what is excessice stretching?

Took my fuel pump off of my 1988 15HP Force and the diaphragm does not have any holes in it but the manual says to check for excessive stretching. What is excessive stretching as it seems a little stretched but without a new one to compare with I do not know what is normal.

karvin Not sure either but it don't matter much now as once you take tem apart there shot. They are so cheap to rebuild anyhow, should cost less then 10.00 for a kit.<br />steve
