I have merc 140 with mercarb carburator and im still having problems with the engine running under load ....im trying to figure out if my fuel pump is pushing enough fuel..how do i check that? how much pressure should i have in the line going from the pump to the carb ,when i crank the engine with the line disconnected fuel is going however when i block the line with my finger it doesnt seem there is all that much pressure ? correct me if im wrong but why is there an aluminum line ? or is it just my pump really weak? another question i took the top of the carb off and fuel level was really low about 1/2 of an inch how do i ajust the float or should i just fix the fuel pump first if that is the problem?
and third question is there some kind of filter inside the fuel tank at the end of the pick up line?

any input is really appreciated

thanks

dom
