Fuel Pump for Evinrude 4 horse

Before my husband blows a gasket, can someone tell us where to get a fuel pump for a 4 hp 1970 Evinrude. I've been all over the net and meanwhile he has taken the old one apart two or three times to no avail...spurts gas. We love this little motor and he won't take me fishing until it is fixed. Help!
