Engine: 1999 Force 90 HP., Model H090412Vt, Serial # OE 355074.
Ordered Fuel Pump Kit, Sierra Part # 18-7817. After talking with Customer Service they assured me this was proper replacement for Part #42990A10(orig Part #)Is this proper replacement part?... I will be doing this job in rural Northern Mi. due to time constraints and shipping. Very Knowledgeable with the engine and have any excellent tool box with me. Of course I don't have a Service manual:facepalm:.
What I have found through research is that its an easy repair if you pay attention to disassemble. Are there any "Gottcha's" I need to worry about? Any weak points or parts I need to use caution with? Read that Plastic Pins on Leaf Valve retainer must be broken?? Last Question, any specialty tools required.
Thanks in advance to those who may give me some pointers !

Re: Fuel Pump Kit Help

No need to break the plastic pins. The plastic pins are very similar to sheet rock wall anchors. Just push the center shaft or rod and the pin, and you can push them right out. Also the castings of the fuel pump has what looks like 3 teeth or peaks on the outer circumference. The rubber diaphragm also has these. When assembling back together, make sure that all the pieces with the peaks are all lined up together on the same side together. No special tools are required.
