Guys, I am going thru an all stock 235(1978). I obtained it for a very reasonable price. It needs alot of tlc. Besides going thru the carbs and pulling the heads to see what the bores look like. I want to rebuild the fuel pumps. I don't know where this motor came from etc. But I do know it's been run hard. It's got a 26 chopper stuck(literally) on the lower unit. The paint on the heads was a tan color(white motor). The deflectors were completely distorted.........enough said.

As far as the part #'s for the pump goes, I can't find a part# for the 235 for 78 thru 81......a rebuild kit anyways. Doing some research on ebay(etc), I have come up with 2 sets of numbers.........393103(sierra 18-720). Is this the right pump kit for my fuel pumps? The oldest year 235 that I could find a part # for a rebuild kit was 1982. It looks correct based on the shape of the pump(older style shape at the top of the pump). I just want to be sure.

Thanks ahead of time!!:D

By the way, what's the best way to get a prop off the shaft that's seized? I don't have a puller.

You may want to take it to a dealer or a prop shop to get the prop removed before something is ruined.

OMC never (and Bombardier still does not) make an overhaul kit for the two fuel pumps on any of their early V6 engines. Bombardier sells new pumps under part number: 438559 There must be some reason why they never rebuild kits for these pumps.....
