Well, I've been working on getting my rebuilt 4.3 L back into my 1986 Searay & with several helpful suggestions I have overcome a number of difficulties.
My old engine had a mechanical fuel pump - the new one doesn't. Two questions:
1. What the proper placement of the fuel pump in relation to the gas tank. Does it matter if it is above the fuel tank - the only other option would be to put it down in the bilge -which doesn't seem like a good idea.
There is also not an oil pressure safety switch on this engine, which the installation instructions call for- there is only an oil pressure sending switch - single wire out the top. Is there something else to attach the hot wire to that would accomplish the shut off - or should I try to find a different switch.
