Fuel pump rebuild

It looks like my 70hp merc is a 1981. Is the 'fuel pump kit' that is sold here what I need to rebuild my fuel pump? I noticed when the motor is idling with the muffs, the fuel filter bowl at the engine is only about 1/3 full of fuel. Its white so I can tell how much fuel is in the bowl. Is that normal?

The sierra pump kit that iboats sells is fine if yopu don't need the ck valve then you will have to go with a Mercury kit and it's fine if your filter is half full they air lock at the top in most cases

Thank you very much. I guess the pump is working. Should I install a bulb? There is not one on my boat?
