I am having trouble getting fuel to the carb. I just replaced the fuel pump and felt sucktion prior to connecting the supply and carb lines so I know it was working.
Do I need to prime the fuel pump in some way? Mercruiser 888, 1976 Ford 302ci.

Thanks for any and all help!

Re: Fuel pump

Check and make sure all hoses are clear, there is gas in the tank right?

Re: Fuel pump

Daddy-

I was able to blow through all lines prior to putting all back together even getting bubbles in the tank. What now?

I am getting so close to getting this going.

Thanks for your advice.

Re: Fuel pump

did you replace the filter? and how long did you try? It can take some time to fill the system back up.

Re: Fuel pump

Great you are still online. Yes I replaced the filter at the entry to carb. I currently have the supply line off at the carb to tell when I get fuel. I did not crank for real long figuring the battery drain. I did however fill the water seperator filter w/fuel when working on it, could this be a bad idea?

Thank you.

Re: Fuel pump

I would try cranking for a bit longer it could need a little more time to get the new pump primed. If u used teflon tape on anything make sure it didnt plug up the ends somewhere.

Re: Fuel pump

I would pour a little fuel directly into the throat of the carb.....
At this time you can allso make sure the choke is operating properly.....;)
