Keeps starving out. Runs when i pour fuel down its throat, but only for a few seconds. Just replaced water separator and filled it with fuel. is it a bad fuel pump or something else i'm missing?

is there a specific marine fuel pump or is any GM pump fine?

Re: Fuel Pump?

Take the fuel line off the carb, pour a tiny bit if fuel in the carb body, using a rubber hose slipped over the fuel line and going to a catch can, start the motor.
Good flow or no flow?
good flow: carb float ,needle and seat,or carb itself is plugged up
no flow: fuel delivery issue

well, started to disassemble the carb and noticed the fuel filter was all crushed and crudded up. so i'm thinking thats the problem. going to try and get one tomorrow and see if that solves the problem.
