I have a 1969 Johnson 20 HP and to the best of my knowledge it has a original fuel pump in it. Should I replace the pump or will a fuel pump kit be all that I need? When looking at the picture of the kit it didn't seem like it comes with the screen. Also I know before on here I saw a post about how to put a pi$$er on the motor with part numbers. I have searched the site and came up with nothing, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Re: Fuel pump

I don't think you had a telltale until around '75. the rebuild parts should be all you need. If your screen is damaged then just buy a complete new fuel pimp.

The discussion of adding a tell tale is in the Engine FAQ forum: http://forums.iboats.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31

Re: Fuel pump

I don't see the kit for a 69 20 listed on this site. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks!
