i have a 1998 mercruiser 3.0lx with alpha one drive,the old mech fuel pump was giving me problems with hot starting(fuel evap from carb)so taking along time to fill back-up while cranking engine,so i was advised to fit a s.u electric fuel pump,this is a fairly low pressure pump and switches itself off when positive pressure is built-up(carb side of pump)im told that another plus point is you can hear pump is working by the clicking sound,question is i havent started my engine yet as i have only just recieved a new carb from go2marine.com(great service by the way!)a bit late now but what do you reckon???? <br />carb is a mercarb2bl.
