Fuel Pump

I have a 1988 mercruiser 3.0 chevy eng. the fuel pump tube is dumping gas in the carb.I read somewhere that it means the pump is leaking? Eng. run fine. Repair kit?<br />I know some parts are ok to use auto parts, but some are not. but I don't know which chevy auto eng this is?<br />A friend said I should change to an electric pump, but what do you do with where the old pump is on the side of the engine?<br />any feedback would be helpful<br />thanks

just go to a marine parts dealer and buy a pump. napa auto sells marine parts. your old pump is toast.<br /> good luck and keep posting
