I just got a new fuel sending unit to replace a bad one. Before taking out the old one, I took the wires and hooked them up to the new sender. When moving the float arm, the max reading I get is about half a tank...works great from zero to 1/2. I tested it with a meter and it worked the whole range it's supposed to (240-33 ohms). What now? Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Take the sending unit wire off the guage and attach a jumper wire to ground, with power to the guage it should read full, if it does then I would say that your new sending unit is not matched correctly (ohms, resistance)to the guage, here is a link to give you a little more info Fuel Sending Unit Info
