Hi, I have a Johnson 1988 150hp GT
J150STLCCA

I noticed recently that when I prime the fuel bulb, there are fuel spilling out of a tube at the front side, starboard side of the carburetor. Red arrow in the attached picture.
I heard that this might be carburetor float/pin wear or out of adjustment. or is it? Is it bad if I ignore it? It has been like this for a while, the motor has been running fine. The plugs looks a little on the wet side but not bad.
My experience to the outboard is limited to changing water pump, lower unit oil and seafoam decarb the engine (twice a year). Can I tackle the problem myself?

Thank you all!

Re: fuel spill when priming

The arrow is pointing to the schrader valve opening on the primer solenoid. That is the valve that lets you prime the engine with extra fuel for a cold sart.

If that is leaking you can get a kit to replace it from your dealer - OEM 175158 or Sierra aftermarket 18-0871.
