Fuel Spilling Out Of Carbs When Engine Tilted

I have a 1986 115hp inline six Merc. When I tilt my engine all the way forward (when mooring for long durations) I have observed fuel spilling out of the carbs at this time.<br /><br />Is this normal? Or could it be that I have stuck floats/needles? The engine seems to be operating normally...<br /><br />Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.<br /><br />thx

Is it straight fuel or is it oily? Did this just start or has it always happened.

It appears that there is the same mixture of gas to oil as my gas tank coming from the carbs when put into this position.<br /><br />I believe that I have never seen this before - at least not to this degree. I recently rebuilt the carbs as well...

This is normal, it is caused by the level of fuel in side the carb changing.

any fuel spillage should not be normal!! if it is i would not want that type of motor.

i have a 87 115 merc, and it has always done that when u tilt it up, if you look below the carbs in the front, you can see a black tray to catch the fuel and route it out of the cowling.

My evinrude does the same thing when tilted all<br />the way up for travel.It also has tube style drain.

Every inline 6 Merc that I have dealt with, has done this. It is just one of the downfalls of carbs. The gas has to go somewhere.
