When I have old fuel, if it still smells like gas.. not varnish, I'll syphon some from the bottom of the tank and pull any watery gunk out until it's clear fuel, then put the rest in my subaru.. she's burned lots of old premix w/o a hiccup. Then put fresh fuel in the boat.. non-ethanol, if possible. Ethanol is alcohol, and it likes to absorb water over time.. which will separate to the bottom of the tank.
