The factory recommendation is 3/8" primer bulb AND hose. I have the same motor. The installation data (I installed mine myself) is very explicit about the line size for fuel. Smaller and you risk lean running, which is very bad.<br /><br />Portable tanks are fine ... I've used them from when the motor was new a lot w/o any problem.
