Fuel system vacuum test question.

(20,3 cm) of clear, fuel resistant vinyl hose into the fuel line at the filter fuel pump inlet fitting. (NOTE: On some engines there is a filter hard plumbed to the fuel pump, these engines should have the gauge attached to the fuel filter and not the pump itself. ) "

I have the compound meter. Is my line going between the fuel pump and the carb, between the fuel filter and the fuel pump, or between what two places. The language has lost me. Thanks

I thought that was only testing the fuel pump's ability to create a vacuum, not testing the whole system for a vaccum

I couldnt tell you anything if you're asking me. I was simply asking from what I gathered.

The (sterndrive) wordage in the picture ion on the left through me off like i was trying to connect something to my sterndrive.

But from after my fuel/water seperator to the my fuel pump then right?

If you are testing your fuel pump vacuum you need to run the test guage and lines from tank fuel line to fuel pump inlet. If you are testing the fuel pump pressure then you connect the gauge from fuel pump outlet to carb, splice in.

But either test will tell you the fuel pump proformance.
