Looks like I only have a topside fuel tank on my boat. It's made out of aluminum and measures 18"L x 13"W x 17"H. Maybe it's about a 15 gallon tank? There wouldn't be any below deck fuel tank on this one, would there?

photo (14).jpg Here it is. I took it out of the boat. It sat on a wooden platform on the port side back by the transom. I thought a boat that big would have a larger tank. I also have a post on Youtube of the whole boat, where I'm at in the process, etc under the title of 1976 Renken Restoration if you or anyone else is interested.

Ayuh,.... Welcome Aboard,.... How big Is it,..?? The Boat,..??

If there's any other tanks, there'll be fill fittin's, 'n vents for 'em somewhere on the hull,...
just follow their related hoses to the tanks, if there are any,...

It's a 19' open bow w/ a Ford 302 188hp engine. Thanks for the advice about the fittings and vents. Never thought about that.

Betcha' it's under the floor, unless it's powered by an outboard.

Thanks Grub. I think you may be right however there are no indications that anything is under the floor. I suppose that someone could just have covered it up and used the topside fuel tank. Would it have had both a topside fuel tank and one below deck?

As Bondo said,if there are no exterior fittings,it might not have one. I'd think it does as the tank you have must take up a fair bit of space.

Re: fuel tank on '76 renken

Wanted to extend this thread a little more. As you can see from previous posts I have a topside fuel tank. I think I'm going to have to take up the deck and while I'm at it I thought I'd put in a below deck tank so I can haul more fuel (less fill ups and time at the marina). Anywho, has anybody ever done what I'm thinking of doing? I assume (yes I know what that means) that I can run the proper hosing, etc. to my filler cap I have now and also the vent. Somebody out there has got to have done this before.

Ayuh,.... None of yer question can be answered, til ya pull up the deck, 'n see what ya got for space to work with,...

My guess is, if Renken didn't put it there, there ain't enough space,...
