I was on the water on the hottest day of the year and the engine refused to start. It took 4 hours to get it towed and on the trailer.
So. Did the usual testing of the fuel pump, relay, filter, wiring and couldn't find anything wrong other than no fuel is moving through the system. So I hooked a vacumm pump up to the fuel line directly out of the tank. I get a trickle of flow at about 5 psi and only a bit more at 6.5 psi. It seems to me that it should move much easier than that at 6.5 psi vacumm. The tank is an aluminum center mount and has only a 90 deg fitting for the hose to attach to. I blew on it to check for a backflow valve and could hear bubbling in the tank.
Does anyone have a guess what the fuel proplem is? I'd appreciate hearing from anyone with a similar problem and possible solution.
