My 17ft bowrider project boat came with a Mercruiser 470 and a 34 gal belly fuel tank.
I have replaced the 470 with a Ford 302, but my tank has a leak, I need to replace it and I am wondering what is the smallest size of tank would be suitable with the 302 motor. I only go out on the lake for 6 hours at a time (including cruising, swimming and just chilling)
A custom made tank is out of the question, $500 plus shipping.
With little mods I can fit a 29gal plastic belly tank from Moeller or with no mods I can fit a 18gal plastic tank.
Your thoughts iboats please......
