Fuel troubles

Hi, I have a merc 115 (1975) and have recently put the tanks in the front where they originally were, I rebuilt the fuel pump and purchased a new bulb and fuel lines. When I run the motor it idles nice but as soon as I hit WOT the engine bogs to a stall. The primer bulb is soft so I reprime it and start again, this time at half throttle, I can hear and feel the engine spit and cough until more fuel is delivered but the outcome is the same, soft bulb.
I thought it could be vapor lock so I disconnected the main hook up just after the bulb and pumped until a steady stream of fuel came out but it did no good. I have a quicksilver tank and a wal-mart $35 tank (both quick connect) and both were tried, both did the same thing.
When the tanks were in the back I had no problem until I started messing around with them, now even when I put them in the back I get the same result...What did I do wrong?
Help me! PLEASE!

Re: Fuel troubles

My guess is that you introduced an air leak in the fuel line, Falker, or pinched it somewhere.

There is also the possibility that you got a bad bulb.

Good luck. :)

Re: Fuel troubles

Take your fuel line off at the carborators. Try to start the motor and see if fuel is pumping good. Start from there and tell us what you get.

Re: Fuel troubles

Could the possibility is slack in the line cause the problem? I have about 5' coiling around the bow.
