This happened 20 miles from my place and traffic has been backed up from the light past me over a quarter mile since noon today.

The truck driver violated one of the cardinal rules of truck driving -

"The tanker swerved to avoid hitting the turning car and rolled over in the median"

I would have tried to hit the car as square as possible and safely stop my rig on the road, if possible. Especially true if hauling flammables. I don't want my family attending my funeral, if I can help it.
