fuel usage seems high

A had my kids out this weekend tubing and I went through 12 gals in about 4 hrs. Does this sound high? We basically went for about a 30 minute cruise, then pulled the tube for about 2-3 hours. Stopped and swam, cruised a little more and headed home. I realize that with tubing, there are a lot of starts/stops and I'm running pretty much WOT but it seemed to be using more gas than I expected.

Any thoughts?

Probably about right IMO. I assume your sig line is your set-up?

WOT fuel use is approx 10% of the HP of the motor.

1 hr WOT on an 85 right about 8 1/2 gallons

Force engines are not known for their economy. :( My best economic speed is 21 MPH in my 1600 Bayliner. At WOT, you can watch the fuel gage as it moves toward E.
