Hi! Great forum!

I have a 1990 120 CFI Force, and was concerned about the new ethanol fuel. Clymer's states to use a Quicksilver filter for ethnanol blend fuels....I ran this engine last year without a lick of trouble. On the one hand I want to use the filter if I should...on the other I hate to mess with an engine that works. Where is this filter located/should be placed? Opinions? Thanks!

These blended fuels can absorb lots of water, its nice to have a separating filter is you have room.
It goes between the tank and the squeeze bulb on the fuel line.

More important if your boat sits for long periods of time, or if it is stored in a damp place.

Most small boats don't have one.

The blended fuel will deteriorate the fuel pump diaphram faster.
Replace it every few years to avoid problems. Part is only about $10.

Thanks a lot for the response....sounds like if I keep the vent tight on the tank between uses I should be alright.
