More details in a thread in the Mercury forum at http://forums.iboats.com/mercury-mariner-outboards/fuel-delivery-advice-needed-605311.html. That forum gets so many questions....
Any fellow tooners using a fuel/water separator with a two stroke outboard? Is it normal to affect the firmness of the primer bulb?
When I first installed the separator, I could tell power was off at WOT and I was running lean. Since then I essentially have a whole new fuel deliver system...including the pick up line in the tank all the way to a new Mercury quick connector at the motor. All new hose and fittings. Thread sealed where needed.
Worked better yesterday first time in water. Still puzzled that the primer bulb (which I also moved to ahead of the separator) doesn't get or stay as firm as it did before I installed the separator.
What has been others' experience?
